Ole m/fam utvandret til USA 1859.
Ole and Kari emigrated in 1858 and went to Big Canoe, Iowa, from where they moved to Jackson County. He had four children, One son, Nils, was born in Jackson County. Førde was relatively well-off, but unfortunately lent $800 to a man named Carter before an accident intervened and Ole never saw the man again. Kari and her children went back to Big Canoe and sold the farm for her suffering.
