Killed by a Bolshevik bomb, the favourite uncle of Csar Nicholas lay buried in an unmarked grave beneath a Moscow Car park. He was exhumed and reburied with due pomp and ceremony in the Romanov family vault in the Kremlin, with the living descendants in attendance.
