Notes for Hallvard på Indre Ese
“Hallvard was working the Inner-Ese (Indre-Ese) farm in 1603 and was there until 1660. A document from 1658 indicates that he was the eighth person who farmed Ese. The Balestrand Bygdebok mentions an earlier Hallvard who lived alone at Ese in 1522 and an Anders who farmed there in 1596, but no connection with our line and these persons is yet known.”
